The club runs Cross Country events, Moto-X and Miniature TT's. and what we call TT a Cross. It also works very closely with the Christchurch Junior Moto-Cross School to foster development of the sport amongst our junior riders.
Cross country events are endurance type events run over longer time periods (generally around 3 hours) and the club uses a variety of properties in the Canterbury region. We have a number of committee members interested in this area of off road riding and events will be run from time to time.
Moto-X and TT type events are run on a more regular and the club has a permanent track at West Melton, where the club leases land. We then use a number of other properties for one off tracks. Moto-X by definition means shorter races (usually around 5-6 laps) of a shorter circuit and will include hill climbs, jumps etc.
Miniature TT on the other hand means racing a shorter circuit but without jumps. Canterbury is blessed (or cursed, depending how you view it) with heaps of flat land and again we use a number of Mid to North Canterbury properties to race these events on. Our TT series which traditionally starts our years racing calendar is a very popular event.
TTaCross is, as the name suggests, a cross between Moto-X and a Miniature TT. Tracks are relatively flat but can include some jumps. Technically undemanding they are popular and the club runs a winter TTaCross series each year.
